Hi, My Name is Cuda and I'm a coffee Drinker...(in back ground"hey Cuda...Hi Cuda...Welcome Cuda.)
Bull.
You would do well to read the article in the "O" online Mag From Ophra...Yeah, I know...I don't like her either...But the researcher did a good job and the article is well written and VERY informative. With the latest Medical Information, less the old wives tales and Bad Science misinformations, Researchers are finding that coffee isn't the "bad drink" it has been portrayed to be, in fact they are discovering that it is acutally a HEALTH DRINK. helps the regulation of insulin, helps in preventing muscle aches after a work out, ...Well, read the article.
As far as stopping because you want to, if you are intaking caffine from other sources, there should be no problem, mind of matter (will).. If you cut you caffine drasticley expect some 'withdrawel' headaches.

its also a good thing your blood pressure might do down. its its already kinda high

Your teeth will stop turning darker shades of brown, you'll suffer mild headaches from withdraw which will probably last anywhere from a day to a week. But after that, you've beat it!

Drink one cup less a day, and minimize your intake slowely.
Coke also has caffiene in, but you can buy caffiene free coke.

If you you want to stay awake, take Dayquil!(Just kidding). Coffee De-caf? Or maybe Sobe? But that's an energy drink. Try drinking tea like herbal tea. Don't drink milk. That'll make you sleepy. I think.

It is good that you have recognized that you have a problem because that is the first step. Next, you have to diminish your supply of caffeine very slowly. If you think this won't work for you, then go cold turkey. If you immediately stop your consumption of coffee, you will experience some symptoms. After all, caffeine is a drug. You will be very grouchy and have strong headaches, but that is about it. Or, you can try switching your drinks from caffeine to tea.

There are much more strategies on this website.

at first you will get head aches. don't stop all at once, drink less every day until you're coffee free. caffiene is as addicting as smoking tobacco.

i think you will be fine

you will go through withdrawl, headachs being tired and grumpy not fealing well. Caffine is a drug and so you are adicted to it. If you drink alot you might want to start by cutting back. Also you could start making coffee and make it with half decaf then a 3/4 then all and you will be off caffine but can still have your coffee going into the cold winter.

The only way I have found successful was easing back gradually. Cold turkey almost made me go crazy. Set targets and good luck!

Caffeine is actually very dangerous. Many people in our society are addicted to caffeine, it wakes you up and helps you get through the day! But, its hard to get off of.

If I was you, I would try to slowly get off of it. Maybe you should drink tea. By drinking tea, you are still getting that nice warm drink, you get great health benefit, and you get less caffeine. (Make sure you drink decaf tea. Like rooibos or honey bush)

Try CUSTOMLEAF.COM. They have alot of tea options.

I feel your pain. I had to give up caffineated drinks a couple of months ago. I was getting very edgy and short tempered when I drank it and it was giving me reflux (yuck). I experienced some major cravings for a couple of weeks ,also headaches and just a general vagueness and light headedness, especially first thing in the morning as I used to need 2 or 3 coffees to get me going in the morning and I went cold-turkey. With hindsight, I would have weaned myself off coffee slowly as others have suggested here. The headaches drove me crazy at first but I have now been caffeine free for about 2 months and I'm feeling so much better and don't regret my decision to give it up. Plus I'm drinking a lot more water (instead of coffee) and my skin is looking great.
