Usually the iced drinks are much weaker then the hot ones, because they use ice to cool the drink down, which in turn makes your drink a littler watery, because the ice melts with a hot beverage. Just like when you have a glass of soda, and you have ice in it, if you let it sit for awhile the ice will melt and your soda will be not as good. I say if you drink your iced drink fast enough, you won't have to worry about melting ice.

for me, the hot version always tastes stronger than the cold ones. maybe it depends on our taste buds.. hehe :)

It's the same ingredients except for the addition of ice which melts into water. However, there is a lot less milk in the iced drinks than the hot ones because they have to fit the ice in the cup, so they taste stronger because they are stronger in the ratio of espresso to milk. If you want it to be more like ratio you drink in the hot one, get a larger sized iced one but ask for fewer shots in it...i.e. get a venti iced which usuall has 3 shots but ask for only two.
