Is Brisk Iced Tea as bad as soda in regards to nutrition?!

Question: I'm assuming that you mean the powdered mix or the pre-sweetened in a bottle...

Y E S!!!!!

The worst part about this is that the powdered has been dried so all the natural vitamins have evaporated into the ether...

The stuff in the bottle is exposed to light which breaks down the antioxidants!

There is just as much Corn Syrup in bottled tea as in a Coca-Cola or Pepsi.

Tea takes 3 minutes to steep!

If you add a BUNCH of bags to a pitcher of water you can steep a gallon of it in 6 minuets...

All you need to do then is pour over ice and your good to go!!

It takes you longer to go to the store, pick what you want, walk to the counter and pay then to just brew your own...

Just remember that the vitamins and antioxidants evaporate within half an hour after brewing if you don't put it in an air-tight bottle to store!!

Keep it out of the light too...

"Sun Tea" loses all it's nutrient value AND causes dozens of cases of food poisoning in Arizona Alone!!

I would imagine so - it's loaded with sugar.

I don't know if it is just as bad. It does have a lot of sugar though! It is not very nutritional. You are better of drinking unsweetened ice tea with lemon.

You mean like the kind in a can? I would think so since it has no nutritional value what's so ever and lacks the anti-oxidants that "brewed" tea would have. But this is my opinion....

Your best bet is to read the label. If you get the unsweetened tea, you don't have the sugar issue to worry about! Tea, however, does have anti-oxidants and soda does not. Cheers!

Yup. It's full of sugar and calories.

There is very little nutrition in either one.

However, the tea is a much better source of hydration thatn the soda, plus much healthier because of far less sugar.

Yes, it has lots of sugar and preservatives in it.

Check the label; there's no other way to tell, really.

Yes and no.

Yes - It's loaded with chemicals, and if you get the diet version - artificial sugar. It's still caffienated, and over-processed.

No - It's not as acidic, and tea has some natural benefits. They aren't completely empty calories.

Make your own iced tea. Lipton has iced tea packets designed for 2 quarts or more. Just boil a pot of water, add tea bags, steep 3-5 minutes, add sugar or other sweetener while still warm so it melts (about 1 cup sugar per 2 quarts), and pour into pitcher. add water and lemon (if desired) pour over ice and enjoy!

..i think so lots of sugar and calories.

its worse has way too much suger

pretty much because of the sugar. iced tea might have some black tea in it which means more antioxidants than soda, but you don't know how the tea was brewed, if it's fresh or not, or what kind of black tea it is, where it's from, etc.

soda contains no nutrition whatsoever, so iced tea might be slightly more healthy.
