I have a question about tea...?!

Question: Alright. I'm 16 years old and im a really big tea fanatic. All I drink is tea, water, and occasionally juice. I don't drink any soft drinks or any carbonated drinks whatsoever because I despise of them. If I continue to drink iced tea, green tea, or any kind of tea well into adulthood, will this affect my health in a positive or a negative way?

Tea has proven over and over again to be a nice healthy beverage. Light colored teas, like green and especially white tea are loaded with antioxidants and low in caffine which is very good for you. Especially if you are drinking these teas with small amounts of sweetener, they are a great alternative to soda and concentrated juice drinks. The worst that can happen is browning of the teeth if you are drinking black teas. I say drink away and enjoy the benefits!!!

I dont think it will have any pronounced effect one way or the other. I'm hoping somewhere in your day you include a little milk of some type.

Hey I love tea (Typhoo especially) and drink lots of water too. Provided you don't have sugar in your drinks, you're doing great, and water is good for your skin amongst many other things. Juice and iced tea may have a sugar content too, so make sure you take care of your teeth. I can't think of any negative effects, as long as the rest of your diet/lifestyle is balanced. Avoiding fizzy drinks is one of the best things anyone can do. Bless you! :)

I drink Green tea even when I have a cold nice and hot.

First and formost, the fact that you don't drink carbonated drink is a good step. It's really tempting to take a sip of soda here and there but I think you are doing good. Now talk about tea. Tea is very good for your health. Tea leaves are controlled so they can contain as much natural chemical as possible. One of the chemical that scientists really pay attention to is ECGC, which some evidence suggests to slow down and reduce risk of prostate cancer and ovarian cancer. ECGC has been in the news for a while now but specific studies on a particular diseases have been recently carried out.

Tea is also contain high amount of fluoride that will help strengthen your bones and teeth. It also contains high amount of calcium and vitamin D to help you maintain bone density when you become older. Tea can have caffeine in it but you can always buy decaf tea.

This is just a few benefits of tea and there are much more. Overall, I think your choice of water, tea, and juice are perfect. I agree that you probably can drink a cup of milk here and there because you are still growing at this age.

Drink lots of tea?
Me too
Ditching sodas is a super idea. (empty calories)
I am drinking green iced tea with honey right now.

positive most definitely. If you like tea, try making some loose leaf tea. You'll soon realize how much more to tea there is than just tea bags. this is assuming you haven't tried loose leaf yet. If you have, my bad.
