When did soft drinks go above $1? It seems like they must have, but now that it's past a dollar, its out of!

Question: control. A friend of mine got a Coke at Longhorn and it was $2.63. I bought a regular size Gatorade yesterday and it was $2.45.

I eat lunch out almost everyday, so I figured I don't need the extra calories or extra money, so it's been years since I've had a soft drink with a meal. I've been bragging to people I've been saving $5 a week because of it. I guess I need to revisit my figures. What gives? $2.50 for a Coke?
