Let's talk Kool Aid, shall we?!

Question: Do you drink Kool Aid? What's your favorite flavor?

I have 3 children so, needless to say, we always have Kool Aid in the fridge. It's not my drink of choice, but I will occasionally drink a glass. My favorite would probably be either grape or black cherry. That's a hard decision. lol

Also, as a mother of 3 kids, I have to say that the invisible Kool Aid is the greatest invention EVER! I just wish they had introduced it when my 2 oldest were little. Would have saved a lot of carpeting. ;)

I understand why some people feel better about all-juice drinks like Juicy Juice and Capri Sun because they are more 'natural' and have and less artificial ingredients. However, they have just as much sugar as Koolaid.
Contrary to popular belief, sugar is not actually evil. (Unlike splenda, sugar really is a natural substance. You can walk into a field and suck it directly out of a plant!)
The key to healthy kids (which you probably already know) is to get enough nutrients in them for growth and development, and to balance caloric/fat intake with the needs created by their activity levels. Best of all, is to help them learn to monitor and balance that for themselves; which is less likely to happen if sugar is strictly forbidden.
Also, sugar-free products may be more harmful to children than any amount of sugar. While the research on Aspartame seems to be kind of mixed, most of it does indicate greater effects in children.

As for your question:
I, too, love the "invisible" koolaid flavors; just wish they'd do a few more for variety. My carpet and car appreciate the invisiblity, too! My favorite flavors are raspberry, (I actually don't like the invisible raspberry as well for some reason?), strawberry, lemon-lime, and maybe grape. My kids' favorite flavors are: raspberry, cherry, watermelon-kiwi (which is actually pretty good), and orange.
We also drink lots of water. Even the kids will often choose water over other options. But sometimes, Koolaid just hits the spot. :)

havent had kool-aid in about 8 years...
but i liked fruit punch

too much sugar in that stuff
my 1 yr old was offered some ONCE and would not drink it thank goodness

Rock-a-dile red.

get those kids on juicy juice or capri sun or anything healthier than all of that sugar!!!!

They do offer Kool-Aid Sugar free! Try it! I love it!

my daughter likes to mix Black Cherry with Cherry to give it a bit of a unique flavor. I am like you do not drink it as a regular drink but on occassion will have a glass. I also love the invisible Kool Aid as well but try mixing Fruit Punch with cherry or grape my daughter says it the yummiest thing since slice bread well she's 6 :o)~~

yes we keep koolaide in my house i four kids it's the cheapest. i like them all.

I love Cherry koolaid. I dont drink much it but if I happen to have a bunch of kids over and need to give them a drink ill make some, and then drink it. I have a 7 year old and she likes koolaid but if I dont make it, she will drink milk and water so I only do it on special occasions. I think her favorite is fruit punch. Also a big fan of the invisible one here!!!!

Koolaid is a soft drink, similar to soda without the bubbles. I think these things should be thought of as a treat rather than a staple. Sugary drinks have got to be one of the biggest reasons for childhood obesity IMHO. All of that sugar gulped down in a few minutes, yuck.
Sill, love cherry koolaid ; )
