Is Organic Milk pastuerized?!

Question: Yes it is pasturized, it is illegal both in the U.S and Canada to sell any or all unpasturized raw mlik products, there are some imported cheeses here in Canada that are made from it, but dairy products made, sold or produced in North America are required by federal law to be brought to a temp of 110 d F for it be labelled as Pasturized, with organic they may take it to 120 d F, for an ultra high level.

i think so

Organic Milk is pasteurized and homogenized

Usually

yes. that kills bacteria and other harmful organisms from entering your body.

Most organic milk is pasteurized, it will say so on the carton.
Raw ( unpasteurized) milk is legal in the United States in 28 states. The states each set their own laws on the handling, distribution, etc of raw milk in their state.
You can check out the laws for each state at

There is a processor here in California that does sell raw unpasteurized milk; Organic Pastures.

It is odd that fresh milk can be called organic when it has been cooked to kill all of the beneficial organisms. Properly handled and inspected raw milk can be cleaner and safer than pasteurized milk.

Yes. You can buy organic, pasteurized UN-homogenized milk at Whole Foods. If you own a cow-share (I'm joining one soon!), then you can buy unpasteurized milk from the farmers. Google raw milk for more info.
