How to prevent soda from going flat quickly?!

Question: I don't drink much soda, but when I do, I often buy the 2 Liter bottles because it's a bit more economical. However, the soda goes flat within 2-3 days, even if I tighten the cap as much as possible. I've tried putting the cap on loosely to see if somehow that would help, but of course it didn't. The bottles are only touched when they need to be opened, so handling and shaking the bottles are kept to a minimum. I just don't get it! Any tips to keep my soda nice and bubbly for longer?

look around in stores in kitchen aisles for things that are meant for these bottles that help to prevent them from going flat! they work really well and are fairly inexpensive. it's a cap that goes on the bottle that works wonders. i have had sodas last for weeks and some a month or so!!

Keeping it in the fridge will help too. Try that if you don't already do it. Otherwise nothing else I know of will help.

Keeping the bottle upside down will help. And also, the sell rubber stopers to use instead of the cap that work better.

When the bottle is half-full, the gas in the soda escapes into the empty space in the bottle. To prevent this, before you put the cap back on, partially crush the bottle so there's very little empty space. Tighten the cap and put it back in the fridge. It will last much longer.

I love soda pops. I buy them at cases at a time. Now we are talking about pops in the bottle. In my opinion try to put the bottle pop in the back of your fridge and screw the top on the bottle tightly. When I buy bottles pops I have my pops for two to three days or more. I don't loose the strength of the pop. Just try what I suggest above in this message. I wish you the best.

definitely do not shake it up.
