In order to make a new sensation you are going to have to experiment. Be willing, and ready to fail. Be prepared to fail often. Document the attempts-especially the failures. Try wierd stuff that just does not make sense when you first think about it. What flavors do you like in other foods? What flavors do you like in cakes and desserts?
What flavors remind you of holidays?
If you like the results, try it out on a few friends

Hmmmm. What do you think of using pina colada mix in place of any cream that you might add?
Other flavor possibilites are included at the end.

In order to make a good cup of coffee it takes many things.

1. Good beans. Columbian, Arabica, Java, Sumatra, Ethiopian, many others, and of course Jamaica Blue Mountain which sells for a modest few hundred dollars per pound.

2. Roasting the beans correctly seems to be the secret of good coffee. Burned beans make for an acid taste. Undercooked beans makes for not enought coffee taste.

3. Grind only the amount of beans that you will be using in the next hour or so. Pregrinding a whole bag of beans just allows oxidation to begin to affect the flavor of the coffee.

4. Store any unused beans in an airtight container, in a dark, cool place. A refrigerator is good, but a freezer is bad. Freezing the beans affects the essential oils in the beans, and the acid will come out first before the flavor.
Light is bad for stored coffee beans/grounds. Stores sell bulk beans in clear containers so that you can see the beans. This is good for sales presentation, not for the coffee that you will make.

5. Prepare the coffee in the coffee maker of your choice.

6. Use pure water. NOT softened water. Softened water has simply replaced any metal ions in the water with salt ions. Not healthy to drink. Filter the water if necessary. If your water is too hard then purchase some filtered water from a grocery store, or wherever. Reverse osmosis filtration of the water is usually adequate.

6. Add spices/flavorings to your taste. Isuggest that you add the flavorings to the grounds, not the water or the finished coffee itself.

Some possible flavorings include, (and this is by no means a comprehensive list because it is just some of my favorites.)

freshly ground cinnamon
pure vanilla extract
dark ground coco powder with a tablespoon of sugar
nutmeg
combine the vanilla with the coco and sugar.

well i would make sure that your coffee doesn't contain any under OR over roasted beans...a lot of times that is what gives coffee its nasty or bitter flavor.

a dark mocha vanilla roast

it has to be the strength of flavor. It's really complicated to explain but i find that it shouldn't be too bitter or sweet but just right with the right amount of kick in it. something that makes you warm all over when you drink it.
