If I store water in say milk jugs or containers, will it stay good?!

Question: For how long and if not what could I do to make it stay good?

Water won't go bad, but be sure to wash the milk container out very good before you use it. Any leftover drops of milk could go bad, but with so much water, and so little milk, it won't hurt you. It'll just make the water taste nasty.

If it is stored on a shelf, the water should be changed out twice a year, perhaps three times a year. Nothing will happen to it, but the oxygen in the water will start to break down and it will taste very bland when you drink it. If you are storing it in the fridge it should last longer, but you'll still need to change it out every now and again.

If you are drinking pretty frequently -- enough that you have to refill the container every few days -- you'll need to clean the container at least once a week, to make sure mold doesn't build up. Use one capful of bleach in one gallon of water when you clean it out.

it depends on how long... i wud say it will be ok for bout a week

water doesn't go bad. just make sure the milk jugs are clean.

You would be best to sanitize the jugs with a bleach solution and rinse them well. I store water for 6 months (for emergencies) before dumping it and refilling.
