Pregnanct & caffeine?!
Answers: i've heard so mant things from different people about pregnacy and caffeine, esp. soda, from soda gives your baby ADHD, to soda makes your baby's skin dry and wrinkly, what in the hell IS true? lol
What goes in to your body goes into your childs body. Caffeine isn't good for us to begin with...so it isn't beneficial for an unborn child to absorb into their systems either. I dont know about it causing ADHD...I think that might be a "wives tale". Try to limit those things like caffeine and sugar whlie your prego and nursing. Its just healthier in the long run.

caffeine is not good for prego moms
I drink a certain amount of caffenine a day. I never heard of that happeningjust dont drink like 5 cans of non caffenie soda.
Ur baby might come out addicted to it.
It is best not to drink a lot of caffeine for various reasons. So try to drink more water and milk to make ur baby stronger and it lessen the chance of a birth defect
I've been pregnant twice (they're 19 and 17 now) and I'm sure many people will ping me for this, but I drank cokes both times & my kids were perfectly healthy.
not really, i was pregnant twice and always drank caffeine and both of my children are fine.
everything you eat drink ect goes to your baby... and caffine will not make them stupid or different but its possible it could be one effect of adhd.. but cokes and things like that arent healthy for you especially when you pregnant...
the people who study child development in this area have come up with no conclusive results so they say that it is just best to avoid it.
too much caffiene doas have effects on the baby! it can cause miscarriage, low birth weight and even some birth defects such as cleft palate!
try and limit the amount of tea/coffee and soft drinks to a minimum! they also contain empty calories which can lead to excessive weight gain while pregnant, drinking more water is good during pregnancy!
too much caffeine is not good for the baby during pregnancy.
I had about one soda everyday while pregnant because I am a soda addict...It was very hard to control..I hate coffee but I have nothing wrong with any of my kids. I did not affect them one bit.
I gave up smoking but had a hard time giving up coffee, so I drank it...a lot......my daughter has ADHD,
however, i had ADHD and there is a chance that its genetic.
If i had to do it all over again, i wouldn't have taken my chances, its extremely difficult to raise a child with true ADHD.
Her skin wasn't dry and wrinkly.
I heard that smoking cigarettes and pot will increase the chances of your baby developing ADHD. But adhd can also be heritary. you still probably shouldn't drink too much caffiene, though.
When I was pregnant, the doctor advised me to limit intake of food and beverages containing caffeine, so I limited myself to 2 kinds per week (ex. a chocolate bar and a glass of Coke), I think doctors advise against intake of caffeine because it affects your body, like faster heart rate, It also affects absorption of nutrients from the food you eat.
Obviously too much caffeine is bad for your baby but I have three kids and had one coke a day while I was pregnant with all of them and they are all fine. I think as long as you are sensible with your choices and don't go crazy a little caffeine won't hurt. Ask your doctor.....my doctor told me that a little was fine. Everything in moderation.
Caffein has been proven to be one of the few elements that can pass directly through the placenta - it is a stimulant, and can cause rapid heartbeat in both the mother and baby. It depletes the body's ability to absorb calcium, and the debit is paid for later in life with increased chances of osteoporosis.
Like all stimulants, you don't want your baby addicted before he/she's even born, withdrawal can be hell for them - as much or worse than for you. I would not drink any caffein beverages during pregnancy.
Its fine..just don't kill like 5cups of coffee and sodas.
Caffeine is trouble for the baby and can cause infections watch out!!
