Heavy coffe drinker, but still can not wake up!!Help!!?!

Question: I drink about ten cups of coffee a day, but lately I been feeling very sleepy. I feel like if I am getting no benefit from it. Is there any brand of coffee, that you would recommend that is strong enough? Currently I am drinking Folgers (Red Container). I am 24 yrs, 5'9", and 140 pounds.

I am drinking some coffee right now, Maxwell House smooth, splash of milk and 3 sugars. Listen, that is way too much caffine for your little body. I'm 24 5'9 and 185pds....man give me your diet plan for real. Your body is getting dehydrated from the massive amount of caffine you are intaking and this is making you tired. Since you drink so much coffee, maybe try and cut it down to 3 cups a day.

Its from too much caffeine try not to drink too much coffee

quit drinking coffee for a while, coffee isn't healthy and its worse in large quantities. It can keep you from sleeping at night, so that when you have to wake up in the morning you only slept a couple of hours. Then its not weird your feeling sleeping

I got off coffee and started taking chocolate It gives me way more enery and I am way more alert. Try it and see for yourself. www.myvoffice.com/gerrydnorquay

It is from to much affine. When you first started to drink caffeine your body was able to "get high" and be woken up know it requires more of that amount to do its job. Caffeine is a drug, I am not saying to not have it because I have it too but try to limit yourself to like 1 cup of coffee a week or something like that when you really need it.

You drink too much coffee!
I would like to be 24, 5'9" and 140 lbs, so do take good care of yourself!

Geez. From the answers I would have though your on crack.
Lighten up ppl!
"Hi. My name is Ms.Behaven, and I'm addicted to coffee."

Try the chocolate suggestion for a day or two, then go back to coffee. Or you can start your day with a triple espresso or 2....worked 4 me!

You need to slow down on your coffee drinking friend. That is way too much. Did you know that 70% of fatigue is caused by dehydration? Coffee is only making you more dehydrated. Try switching out about 1/2 of your coffee a day for water in the beginning, then move to 1 or 2 cups tops a day.

Because caffeine is a drug, your body has developed a tolerance to it, just like any other drug. I'm the same way -- I drink about 3 cups of coffee a day, and I find that if I take a break for a few days and either have no coffee or very little, I'll feel way more awake when I start drinking my normal amount again. Try cutting down (you probably don't want to go cold-turkey with the amount you're used to) and then if necessary increase your intake again.

Try eating a big apple in the morning , one at lunch and another at dinner. Apples have natural sugars that give you a boost.
