Tea bag, hot water, stir, remove t-bag then add milk & sugar if required.

Hot water, tea bag, milk then sugar.

It doesn't matter what order they go in, just don't put the milk in for a while (it stops the tea diffusing into the water)

I am a bit fussy with mt tea so I use good quality tea bage (I like Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea) and put it into the cup first along with the sugar. I then add hot water and leave it for 6 minutes. I then add milk and remove the tea bag

teabag
hot water
milk
sugar
but tea made the old fashioned way in a teapot is best.

I think it's just a matter of personal preference. Each person's taste is different too. My grandmother would always insist on making a pot of tea first - placing one teabag in per person plus an extra teabag - and letting it brew for around 5 minutes. Then she would add the milk and sugar to the cup and pour the tea into the cup. That's also how I would make tea.

A friend of mine forewent the hot water and heated up enough milk for a cup (along with two teabags). It made for a VERY creamy tea taste.

water, tea bag... then milk or lime/lemon and then... sugar or splenda
