Espresso???!

Question: Is it OK to drink espresso in the same amounts as regular bean coffee? I usually drink 1.5 cups a day. I know it's highly caffeinated and I've heard of "shots" of espresso...that's why I wondered.

Jeeez girl! You must be one wired, high as a kite EverReady Bunny!

I would think you would experience some health problems down the line injesting that much caffeine....My goodness gracious.

Caffeine in high doses like that has been linked to irregular heart beats, heart attacks, jitteryness, weight gain, bad breath, etc.

An espresso cup has about as much caffeine as a cup of strong coffee. But servings for espresso are much smaller. Which means that the content of caffeine per milliliter are much higher than with a regular brew. Moreover, caffeine is more quickly assimilated when taken in concentrated dosages, such as an espresso cup.

How much coffee can you drink in a day and does your consumption stay within healthy & safe limits?

This subject has been widely debated & opinions seem to change on a monthly basis. Basically a lot comes down to our genetics. People that have a slow metabolic rate and drink two or more cups of coffee a day are 36% more likely to have a nonfatal heart attack than those that drink no coffee and people under 50 with a slow metabolic rates are up to four times more likely to have a nonfatal heart attack.
