Is D.O better than M.D?!

Question: I just switched and I think yes. He does manipulations on my back and my pain is getting less with less pain meds.

He does everything an MD does plus the body hands on healing.

no, worse.

By-and-large, its easy to get a job in more prestigious institutions with an MD.

Yes it is.

D.O.s are looked down upon by some M.D.s. One reason may be that it's harder to get into an M.D. school (allopathic school) versus a D.O. school (osteopathic school).

However, one study showed that patients are more satisfied with the bedside manner of D.O.s. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez...

In the end, as a D.O., you can have as satisfying a career as an M.D. You'll be practicing medicine as well as making a good salary.

The D.O. I am seeing right now is much better by far than any M.D. I have ever been to, and he actually takes the time to listen to what I have to say rather than being brushed off by the others.

DO is MD who has had extra schooling in bones and such, so it dpends what you're seeing them for. I'd choose personality over letters any day. In fact I prefer to see PA (Physician Assistant) or Nurse Practitioner any day. They tend to take more care and more time with you and are better at follow up.
