Can I brew coffee in a teapot?!

Question: I have a small teapot with a metal strainer (for loose leaf teas). Can I brew coffee in it as well? Wouldn't it be the same as brewing coffee in a French press?

I Have done it.
I actually used a cheese clothe tied with a cord with coffee in it.

A muslin bag would work as well.

Yes, and let's make oatmeal in the toaster while we're at it!!

Thick porcelain or glass are the ideal materials for a teapot, in that they do not impart flavors of their own, and can retain heat well when preheated.

not that i know of, but based on the answers ontop i guess you can :D
