Can I drink a Coke after the expiration date?!

Question: I found a Coke in my desk that expired in July. Is it still ok to drink?

They never used to have them. All canned beverages are adding the dates in the hopes you will toss their product and buy new once they have "expired". Sure, they may taste "best" when they are only a few months in the can, but I never remember anyone drinking a Coke and saying "man, that tastes old" - and before the dates, they could be several years old. If I know them to be over 8 years old or if the can looks nasty, I would think twice, but the rule for years was: if it has a fizz - it's OK! And people were not getting sick from them, so that still applies - if it stayed tight enough to hold the carbonation, it is a good soda.

nooooooooooooooo

Sure, the worst it'll be is a little flat and flavorless.

Yeah, It should be ok. Put it in the fridge and get it cold!

Yes, you can. It is not harmful but it tastes just a little different.

Might as well throw it out, it will have a very flat taste by now.

Yes you can and yes you may.

Coke expires????????? say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!

yuck - you can try it but trust me it won't taste very good!

Yes, the coke should be okay. However, there may be less carbonation in the coke. The expiration date is just the date when the company guarantees taste. The coke is fine, but the taste may not be as good as a newer coke.

I had a friend, we dared him to drink pepsi one that was two years old. He guzzled it down. Walked outside and puked. Came back in with a bloody nose.

Go for it. I dare you.

July might be too old. Really all that happens after the date is it goes flat, though.

yea but it wont be as yummi. and itll be flat

I do it all the time.

It expires for a reason. But in most cases a lot of food and drink products are ok a little while after the expiration date. I wouldn't recommend it though. You can open it and try it and if it doesn't have a strange taste or anything then go for it. I once ate a can of clam chowder that was expired for 2 years and nothing happened to me

The expiration date is there for a reason. Its one thing if it just expired but its been like 4 months, you will get sick if you drink it.

Yes. The expiration date has an allowance of about six months so it's fine. Canned drinks don't really go bad anyways..

If it's never been opened, it's probably okay. It might be flat, though. That's probably what the expiration date indicates.

I would think it's fine. Coke is all sugar and preservatives. The expiration date is really a "best by" date, so after July, it may just be flat-tasting. I wouldn't suggest drinking Coke that expired during the 80's, but one that just passed the date in July won't harm you.

Was it a particularly expensive can ???

Yes, but your eyeballs will explode and your stomach acids will turn into a poisonous sludge that wll devour your intestines.

yeah they never used to have dates on them but if it got shook up alot it'll be flat

Probably not, ignoring the health factor, the can or the plastic may have made it undrinkable,

If it"s still homogenous yes., but if your not sure, no.

yes u can give a try but before that give me ur cell no so i'll call u.........even send me ur email id so i can email u get well soon card :)

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because that water will kill your body cell. If you often drink that Coke, maybe you stomach will be sick in one week.

Trust me!!!!!! Usually, a Coke after the expiration date, smells bad.

Yes, you can. It won't do you any harm unless it's YEARS after the expiration date. As long as it hasn't been opened, it should continue to have it's fizzz. Enjoy!

Yes you can drink it. It is just a best by date, meaning that it is guaranteed to be good til then. My SIL always serves cans of pop that are "outdated". It has become a big joke in my family. My dad is real funny about that, so he always brings his own can of pop when ever he goes over to their house. The only thing with the pop is that it might not have as much carbonation as a fresher one.

Yeah it just means it going to be flat, meaning having no bubbles.

sure, it will likely just be a little flat

You can but there's a good chance it'll taste flat. Not a good idea.
