How much milk is a male suppost to drink a day?!

Question: After infancy you really are not "supposed" to drink milk. No other animal drinks milk after infancy, that is after weening. The dairy council would like you to drink 24oz a day of low fat milk. Most of the world becomes lactose intolerant after infancy.

The dairy council claims that you can lose weight by drinking 3 glasses of low fat milk a day, there are probably studies going both ways on this as on most health claims.

I would recommend that if you drink milk make sure it's low fat . Whole milk is often recommended for children however.

Most milk nowadays has vitamins A and D added, both are fat soluble I believe and getting too much can be bad for you, however you get more vitamin D from being out in the sun than from a glass of milk, so don't worry about overdosing.
It is often recommended that women drink more milk because the calcium prevents osteoporosis. Calcium, especially with vitamin D can prevent osteoporosis, but there is calcium in green leafy vegetables too so you can get your calcium and vitamins from a healthy diet without drinking milk.

In short, drink it if you like it or if it is recommended specifically by a health care practitioner, but be wary of the fat in whole milk and be aware that it's not necessary to a healthy diet.
