A french press steeps coffee much like how tea steeps..does a drip coffee maker do the same thing?!

French press Steeps coffee just as you said, drip coffee makers actually let the water run through the grounds. I have both and prefer the drip. :)
In a drip method brew the coffee should be ground to a fineness to allow the water to slowly seep through. It should take about 4 to 5 minutes to complete.
