What is a good hot chocolate recipe that doesnt use half and half cream or chocolate drink mix?!

Question: thanks

Answers: thanks

1 cup lowfat milk
1 cinnamon stick
2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons water
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Heat the milk and the cinnamon stick until just simmering. In a mug, combine the cocoa powder, sugar and water and stir to make a paste. Remove the cinnamon stick from the milk. Pour the milk into the mug and stir to mix well. Add the vanilla extract and stir.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I like to make hot chocolate using cocoa powder, sugar, and milk. The amounts of each are listed on the cocoa powder container usually. On hershey's it is anyway. Tastes really good!

Try carob. You can buy it as a powder in most health food stores. You use it just like cocoa powder. I've made it with non-fat milk or soy milk at it is a reasonable substitute. Some people like the taste better than chocolate. But, committed chocolate lovers will probably not find it acceptable.
