Does anyone prefer real tea to tea bags or do you have to be posh?!

Question: You don`t have to be posh to be privilaged.

Answers: You don`t have to be posh to be privilaged.

I prefer Loose Tea it seems to taste better. I grew up on Loose Tea,and when the Tea Bag Craze came in we switched over to Bags for a few Years and then Switched back this was back in the late 1960ties.Latter years I have been using bags for convenience but went back to loose Tea for a few Years now. I drink Barrys Tea, Red Label from Cork it is a mid Range Quality as I live in Ireland. I feel very Privileged to be able to drink very good Tea, as I am not Posh. It is €2.70 for 250 Gramme which I think is £2.40 in Sterling. I usually drink two Mugs of it at a sitting.

When they brought out Liptons Iced Tea one Year in Dublin,I seemed to be the only Person Drinking it,and they started to give a Cornetto with a Can to get them sold and then withdrew the Product. So I seem to be a Tea Head Report It

  • Bags anytime

tea bag tea is never as good as the real thing

Bags in the morning, in a mug.
Leaves in a pot, with the nice cups in the evening when the kids have gone to bed

I'm about as un-posh as you can get...without being common

Haven't had a cup of real tea in years must go out and buy some and of course a tea strainer.

tetley is fine for me!! lol, I also like Lift lemon tea

tea bags in the week cuz its quick. at weekends a pot of loose leaf tea (English Breakfast)............... x

I like real tea. I also like green tea and herbal tea.

And I'm not posh. I'm from Newport, the chavviest town in Wales! "You fuggin knows it, Clart" etc (to quote the GLC, personally noone I know in Newport says that. . .)

Just has a pot of loose-leaf rose tea and it's so much better loose!

Generally, loose tea is better quality than that from bags. You only have to look at the difference - good quality loose tea will have large leaves in it, open any tea bag and it will be full of dust...
If you go to a good tea retailer you can get some fantastic loose teas - try first-flush darjeling for shear loveliness!

Having said that, it's so much easier to chuck a bag in a mug and that's what I do along with everyone else...
My current favourite teabag is Sainsbury's Gold Label

err if you use real tea you will have all those bits at the bottom!

what ever is available unfortunetly the type of tea i drink if made from scratch i would have to make gallons of it or daily as i drink alot of it (chai) so i do use bags. but i am happy with what ever is at hand

I use tea bags because they are easier to take care of than tea leaves though I prefer tea leaves. That and tea leaves tend to be more expensive.

    to be posh

only drink tea when I feel ill.A coffee man all the way.

I always make 'real' tea in the mornings! You can't beat a pot of English Breakfast tea first thing....it tastes so good....the for the rest of the day, I just use tea bags!! Too much trouble to warm the pot etc, etc!!

I have to use bags. I have this phobia about wet tea leaves. If the bag splits I go into a panic.
    Strange but true I'm afraid!

I use bags for convenience, I prefer leaves!
