Answers: we had no idea that it was in there, we are not feeling ill in any way or different to how we did yesterday but we just wanted to make sure we will be ok.

Yuck. That's a gross thing to have happen to you. I guess if the water in the kettle was boiled it probably wont hurt you, but you might ask your doctor just in case. You might need an antibiotic just to be on the safe side, and to make sure it didn't die from some pest poison first.
if there was one mouse, there'll be more. get yourself some traps. chocolate hobnobs work well as bait...

Ugghh! Probably you'll be fine, just a bit spooked by it. Although I would keep an eye out over the next few days, just in case.
But it looks like there is a lesson in there! I mean how many people just fill the kettle without opening the lid? Certainly, I'm the only person I know who takes the lid off.
But I would be getting a new kettle, though. I doubt I could use it again, no matter how clean and sterilised I could make the kettle!
