Ok get a filter and open the top of the machine. put it in the machine. Then in the back put the amount of water you want in the hole for the water. Then in the filter put the amount of coffie you want in it. I reccomend 2 Serving Spoon or 4 tea spoons. Then turn on the coffie maker and there you go! You just wait until the machine stops.

you dont...TRY STARBUCKS

you fill the container with the amount of cups of COLD water you want then pour it into the appropriate place (you'll figure that out). I'm sure the part where you place the coffee grouns has the metal filter. Put about 1 tablespoon of coffer per cup. Once it's brewed, check if you have as much coffee as water you put in. Sometimes the grounds absorb enough so that it falls a little short. You can always add a bit more water (just a little) to make up for it.

As for the coffee pot itself it should have come with instructions as to how to use it.
Now for the coffee. Every can of coffee 'grounded' will have instructions on the can.
It will tell you whether it is mild, medium, or strong. It will also tell you if it is French Roast, flavored or other things.
You just read what you see on the can and use it according to the instruction.
When you taste it you can tell if it is too strong for you or too weak. That way you will be able to adjust the grounds for the flavor you want.
If you want to use the coffee bean you will have to buy a small coffee grinder, Walmart, ask any worker they will help you. Grind the coffee, According to the strength you want and then use it the same way as ground coffee in the can. It tastes better, because it is fresh ground.
I hope this works ot for you.

coffee and water. both ingredients should be fresh. if your tap water tastes "funny" buy bottled spring water. fresh ground coffee is the important ingredient! buy beans and grind it. grinders cost less than $15 and last forever or the store probably has a grinder. About 2 tsps of ground (1scoop of beans) per cup works for me but you might like it stronger or weaker. experiment, its fun. there are all types and flavors of beans, try them all. if your coffee maker has a preset button i suggest you use it. there is nothing like wakeing up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee!
