What is a good drink I can make with a coconut?!

Question: I need some recipes for drinks that you can make with coconut. I have a fresh coconut (drained the water and peeled off the meat of the nut), and I want to know what drinks I can make from it. I am looking for a non-alcoholic, simple drink, that uses a fair amount of the coconut. I do not want any recipes that use canned anything, I want to make it entirely by myself. II also would like to know if you can make coconut milk out of the water you drain from the coconut, or dose it not work for some reason?

You can drink the coconut water, but it's not the same as coconut milk. To make coconut milk you need to grind and mix the flesh with hot water then squeeze it.

Then you can search for recipes containing coconut milk.

What other ingredients do you have?

You can use the coconut water to make coconut milk if you want and it will have extra flavor.

You said no canned juices, I don't think you wanna juice a pineapple, just get a carton of DOLE or something. That would be for a virgin pina colada.

To make a bowl out of the shell you need to be very careful with a hammer and chisel which is very hard or use a hack saw and vise.

You could search http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,co...
and see what looks interesting and has no alcohol.

That's a common misconception. Coconut milk is actually made from the coconut meat itself. I've heard you can actually get the runs from drinking the water in the coconut -- although I know I've tried it before and been ok.

Not sure about recipes. Virgin pi?a colada comes to mind. I recommend trying a recipe site like recipezaar.com (lets you select ingredients for the recipes you're trying to find).
