What is "NATO standard" tea?!

Question: a colleague who served in Iraq just asked for that.

Answers: a colleague who served in Iraq just asked for that.

It is the way NATO describes a cuppa, milk and 2 sugars. Have a look at the link.

Agreed, NATO Standard tea is an unofficial standard, probably by common consent. "Tea, strong as you like, milk, two sugars."
Unless otherwise requested in advance you will get standard TEA. A fine system!

When asked in the army 'how do you like your tea?' the answer would be 'standard NATO issue' i.e. milk and two sugars.

milk two sugars
