Use a sturdy paper towel soaked in water with the excess squeezed out. Unravel the towel and place over the food container your using to heat up the food (like a blanket). This will keep the flavor and moisture from escaping when using the microwave to reheat meals.

cover it or wrap in plastic and use a lower reheat temperature

A few drops of water, nuke proof plastic wrap or
using a wet paper towel to wrap food item in.
Also you can adjust power to 50% to prevent
drying. Experiment til you find what works best
for you.

Sounds like you are cooking the items too long. If the recipe says five minutes, cook it three minutes and test to make sure it is hot/done.

Check to see if you have a 700w or a 1,100w. This makes all the difference in the world at how long to cook or warm foods. 700w takes longer, 1,100w takes a shorter time to cook/warm.

ALWAYS put something over the top of the food such as a napkin, plastic wrap, paper towel. Or a plastic dome if you have one. I bought one years ago and they are very nice for the microwave.

Put a wet plastic covering and put it on. To remain the way it was . But i heard from my mum that its not too good to use the microwave too much and stare at it, it contains radiation that can cause cancer.
