Question: i might try some if the taste isn't too nasty.

Answers: i might try some if the taste isn't too nasty.

good question. everyone is telling you how great it tastes but noone says what the difference it.
Lactose free milk (if its made from real milk not soy) is milk that has been treated with an enzyme (lactase) to destroy the lactose so those who are intolerant can get all the benefits of real milk. Usually those people cannot breakdown lactose in their stomach and intestines because they lack the enzyme. The milk itself will be slightly sweet because lactose (found naturally in milk) is not very sweet but the hydrolysis product (glucose and glactose) are sweet. As far as digestibility, if you have the lactase enzyme it won't make any difference whether you drink regular milk or lactose free.
I think taste is a matter of preference. Personally, I don't like lactose free milk but that's just me.

I think it tastes great, not in the least nasty. The lactose free cottage cheese is good too-- and what a difference in the digestability !!

I dont like milk... but I tried lactose free milk and I drink milk now everyday, so it is good.

Try to find LAND-O-LAKE brand. If you can't find that look for any product that says it is real milk, but lactose free. I find that these are good tasting.
There are lactose free products on the market that are NOT dairy or Not from the bovine. These are usually made up of a bunch of different sugars as their main ingredient. These are bleeack tasting.

i think it has a different taste but i think you should taste it because it is an aquired taste!!

I dont find a differencein the taste...It actually is easily digested as compared to reg milk.
