Starbucks baristas - vanilla lattes?!

Question: I'd like to learn the proper way to make a vanilla latte. I can't afford to spend $4/cup every single day. I think buying an espresso machine and some SB espresso and vanilla syrup will help.

How do I steam the milk? To what temperature? What order do I put the ingredients in? I just need espresso beans, milk, and syrup, right?

You will want to steam the milk anywhere from 140-160F
I am not good at explaining how to steam milk... it's a little complicated to write it down, I can only explain by actually showing you.
The best advice I can give you is to ALWAYS make sure you aerate the milk.
Here's a good site that explains frothing milk:
http://www.coffeegeek.com/guides/frothin...

Here is our recipe:
Tall(12oz)

3 pumps vanilla syrup
1 shot espresso
steamed milk
top with a bit of foam

For 16 oz, use 4 pumps syrup and 2 shots.
For 20 oz, use 5 pumps and 2 shots.

Good luck!
