Is coffee really bad 4 u? isn't everything tho?!

Question: Most people think it is, however there are two sides to every coin. Here are some points for and against.

The Bad:

There may be as much as a 30 percent increase in early miscarriage of normal pregnancies for women who drink one to two cups of coffee a day.

Caffeine can raise blood pressure for a few minutes, and in some cases hours. However coffee consumption does not seem to cause ongoing hypertensive disorder. If you already have hypertension, however, a cup of coffee may temporarily raise your blood pressure and this could ultimately increase your more immediate risk of stroke.

Caffeine can cause palpitations, irregular or fast heartbeat, and if you have an existing abnormal heart rate or heart disease, this could be a problem.

Caffeine can increase the effectiveness of headache medications (and many of the over-the-counter headache medications in fact combine caffeine with either aspirin or a Tylenol-like component). But these combined products can actually cause rebound headaches.

Caffeine acts as a diuretic and should decrease discomfort and bloat. This can make PMS worse.

Caffeine speeds the kidneys’ processing of fluid, so we have to go more frequently. It can also irritate the bladder, leading to certain forms of incontinence.

High doses increase the level of brain chemicals associated with anxiety.

Even decaffeinated coffee can increase stomach acid production and affect the closing of the valve between the stomach and esophagus, leading to reflux and heartburn.

The good!:

After analyzing data on 126,000 people for as long as 18 years, Harvard researchers calculate that compared with not partaking in America's favorite morning drink, downing one to three cups of caffeinated coffee daily can reduce diabetes risk by single digits. But having six cups or more each day slashed men's risk by 54% and women's by 30% over java avoiders.

At least six studies indicate that people who drink coffee on a regular basis are up to 80% less likely to develop Parkinson's, with three showing the more they drink, the lower the risk.

People who smoke and are heavy drinkers have less heart disease and liver damage when they regularly consume large amounts of coffee compared to those who don't.

There's also some evidence that coffee may help manage asthma and even control attacks when medication is unavailable, stop a headache, boost mood, and even prevent cavities.

Caffeine contains many antioxidants, some of which become even more potent during the roasting process.

no, it's not if you take it in moderation.

this is definitely something that depends on the person's current health situation... but in general, coffee isn't bad for you in moderate amounts.

Yeah, it speeds up your immune system.
Everything has a bad side to it.

well...there is some evidence that caffeine (not necessarily in coffee) has some protective qualities againsts alzheimers. but don't quote me on that.

Actually, recent studies have indicated that coffee can actually be beneficial, acting as such things as a memory enhancer. It is a stimulant, however, so you should watch how much you intake. Normally, several cups of coffee a day should not have a negative effect, unless you're prone to irritability and sleeplessness. But, sure, if you drink 3 pots a day, you may start to notice some negative effects.

Too much of anything is not good for you. Everything we eat has both positives and negatives just don't over do it.

Everything is contaminated with bacteria, even the cleanest Salads you eat contain tina micro cells and worms that cannot be seen through the naked eye same in conjunction with peanuts, apples, raspberries, and any meat... nothing is clean, there is no such thing as a clean food, that's why we have such short life spans in this world... we cannot escape death.

So, back to answering your question... Just enjoy life!! Drink that Coffee or any drink in moderation or excess...It's your body, do what you want with it.

everything have two sides,
don't abuse it,else,it will be bad for you!

It has never stopped me from drinking coffee.

If you start shaking, maybe you should stop drinking coffee for a few hours.

if you drink it a lot, it will take a few years off your life.
