What happened to the milk?!

Question: There was milk in my refrigerator and it hasn't been opened in about 1-2 weeks. It won't expire until 3 days(Nov 24, 2007) When I got it out, it looked like yogurt and smelled like it too. What happened to it? How do I fix it and still drink it?

It clabbered. Which means it has soured and now it is the same as buttermilk. This can happen even when the date it good. The milk may not have been kept cold enough over that period of time. You can't fix it, but, you can use it as you would buttermilk to cook with. It will make great biscuits, waffles, and cornbread. It also makes a good batter for frying. To do this, first season chicken, shrimp, onion rings, sliced squash or other meat/veggies then dip in the milk, then dredge in self-rising flour. Fry in several inches of hot oil.

you know, i really would not drink it if i were you. just because you've had it so long might be the case, even if the date is three days from now. sounds spoiled to me...

It spoiled. You throw it out and buy a new one.

it happened to fresh milk ,

its spoiled
don't drink it
