you can get protein from all sorts of beans and legumes, like kidney beans, pinto beans, and such.

Beans are a great source of protien. Go to vegweb.com They have everything you need.

Definitly take a multivitamin to supplement the nutrients you're missing and I would say that peanut butter is also good. I've had a few vegan friends and they always ate peanut butter. Try silk soy milk and anything else soy. Good Luck!

where i get my insperation from

Here are just a couple of websites with vegan/vegatarian recipes.

Do a search on yahoo for Vegan Recipes and it will give you lots and lots of sites to go to as well.

Beans: Beans contain more protein than any other vegetable protein. Plus, they're loaded with fiber that helps you feel full for hours.
Nuts: One ounce of almonds gives you 6 grams of protein, nearly as much protein as one ounce of broiled rib-eye steak.
Whole grains: A slice of whole wheat bread gives you 3 grams of protein, plus valuable fiber.
A lot of plant-based foods like soy and legumes can give you the same amount of protein as meats. I have nuts for breakfast every day, because they not only give you a lot of protein, but they're healthy sources of fat
As far as meal ideas try: http://www.aldimeals.com/cgi-bin/recipeC...

Protein is in everything. Eat a varied diet that doesn't consist of soda and french fries and you'll be fine.

Step 1 of becoming a vegan: Educate yourself on the protein myth.

To quote the great cookbook author Sarah Kramer: Saying you don't like tofu is like saying you don't like cake flour. If you don't like tofu, maybe you haven't had it prepared right. Check my profile for tips on how to avoid mushy tofu. It takes practice, but you'll soon forget you didn't like it!

You can also use tempeh, an Indonesian food product made from fermented soybeans. And try seitan, made of wheat gluten (it's also called wheat meat). I recommend making your own seitan, as the packaged stuff is overpriced and not that good. It's easy to make your own seitan, and you can do it in about an hour (plus additional time using in a recipe).

Good luck!

you might have to get some protein drinks like muscle milk to supplement your diet.
