I'm a vegan.
1. Eating animal products is unnatural.
2. Eating animal products is unhealthy.
3. The idea of consuming blood, pus, sh*t, and steroids nauseates me.
4. The animals are treated horrifically.
My "religion" is a set of beliefs the holds the elimination of suffering to be the highest goal, so I suppose it is my religion. I was raised that way, so it's "tradition". I've been vegan since conception, as have my siblings, and have never even had a cold, so there's a "health" factor, too. Mercy towards the animal, of course.
So, all of the above.
I am vegetarian because i like veg food, the only so called non veg food I take is eggs.
there is no other readon. just a question of liking.
3),4),5)..... well 3 for my health i guess it is very healthy to not be eating meat..... 4 because it is so mean to kill a poor little animial so WE can have food to eat.. And 5 well i just don't like meat lol
I am vegetarian because I eat vegetables and not flesh. Simple...
5. other reson
* coz, i see it as a way of, i dunno, defining myself? not sure if thats the right word. uhh, cutsomising, thats it! yah, its like customising ME.

Read a Robin Cook novel about bad meat processing. It scared the crap out of me. (Excuse the language.)
i'm a meateater
1,2,3,4,5
5 - being for spiritual reasons.
3) It is (or rather can be) a healthier alternative to a diet with meat
4) I don't believe in eating animals
5) a boycott to the meat industry
it's a healthier alternative to a meat based diet because meat typically has lots of carbohydrates, fats and oils in it, and when it is replaced with the healthier supplements in a balanced diet like beans, nuts, cheese and eggs, the excess carbs and fats are eliminated from a vegetarian's diet, decreasing their risks for certain cholostrol and carbohydrate based conditions (like heart diasese, high cholostral, heart attack) and countless other health benifits from not consuming the cholostral and carbohydrates found in meat.
Not to mention the countless hideous things that are done to the animals people end up eating, feeding cows their own blood, giving them antibiotics, cramming them next to eachother stepping in their own secretions, etc. However, not all animals are raised in such conditions.
I think I've spoken too much already so I'll just leave it to others to give their opinions... and I hope nobody feels offended!
It's the most natural diet for the humans. The scientific studies of teeth of humans and animals(both carnivorous and herbivorous) has revealed that the structure, pattern and arrangement of our teeth suggests that the most suitable diet for humans can be vegetables, fruits and nuts,Like carnivorous animals, humans don't have tearing teeth and grinding arrangement of our teeth further suggests vegetarian diet. Other reasons like religion, traditions, love for animals ,perceived benefits of non vegetarian diet or what ever, are a matter of individual preference and choice.I for one, try to stick to vegetarian diet as far as possible,as I see not additional benefits in non vegetarian food except taste of some preferred dishes.
In no particular order:
(3) - Fewer accumulated toxins because of eating lower down in the food pyramid, less saturated fat, less protein, less acidifying, safer to prepare food.
(4) - Probably the most important reason now, but not at the beginning.
Also, trophic levels - less energy and resources needed to raise plants than animals, feasible to grow my own food, fresher, easier to feed the world if everyone's veggie.
Besides that, to forge a bond with other people who are veggie, so that i'm doing something positive simply by living, and to annoy a friend of mine (the initial reason for making the decision at the moment i made it).
the ominvore's dilemma
Technically 2,3,and 4. but it is also a personal choice.
I have been a pure vegetarian ever since I was born.
4
i decided when i was 12. and i grew up vegetarian till i was 3, so i guess kind of 5
1st) Out of mercy towards animal.
2nd) Health
I'd have to say for other reasons, because I can't find a single good reason to eat meat. It's not healthy, it's not humane, and it's not necessary.
Because I want to!
1) because I've heard that nonsense about vegetarians being a cult.... whatever.
2) because it is a tradition in my family to eat meat... but there is also a tradition of heart disease... so I thought I'd start a new one.
3) ...see answer to traditions.
4) pet the animals... don't eat the animals.
5) because you get an all access pass to the vegetable of the month club.
1) Religion
3) Health
4) Out of mercy towards animals
I'm a christian and the bible clearly states not to eat meat. I also know that meat is not healthy and causes diseases and I am working on becoming vegan because dairy is also harmful. I was just watching a video on meetyourmeat.com and it's very sad how the animals are treated.
3, 4 and 5 for me. My "other" reason is that veganism is one of the most powerful choices an individual can make towards reducing their carbon footprint.
3) i believe its healthier not to eat meat...
4)i dont like the thought of a defenceless animal dying just so that i can eat it ,there is plenty of other foods out there for me to eat....
5) never really liked the taste of meat or the smell ...
i never criticise anyone who eats meat its there choice as been vegetarian is my choice .... :)
4.
-it's sad :(
5.
- i didn't just have mercy for animals.. basically it just got to the point where i was really grossed out by eating dead animals. i couldn't eat more than two bites of a burger without getting grossed out.
-i never really liked meat in the first place
I became a vegetarian when I moved to the states and found out about the bad treatment of livestock here and hormones and chemicals and such. I didn't want to eat unhealthy food, so my original plan was to be vegetarian only while in the states. However once I became vegetarian I felt so healthy and energetic! I had more stamina and flexibility. So I stopped thinking of animals as food altogether
I'm a vegetarian for health reasons. I suffer from high blood pressure and helps me in controlling it.
Health because we get all nutrition from vegetables and fruits. Non-vegetarian items increases cholesterol in blood and we don't do much physical works to correct the cholesterol content.
