Did anyone on here have a vegan "Turkey Day"?!
Answers: How did it go? My family was quite nice to me. We cooked a vegan meal together and they said it was even good lol.
of course.
i helped make vegan garlic mashed potatoes which were delicious.
had morningstar vegan chicken strips instead of turkey.
and steamed vegetables of course.
then i made a delicious vegan chocolate cake.
it was quite good. :]
I kind of did as a matter of fact. Ate a jar of peanut butter with celery.
I made a vegan Moussaka and Apple pie. It was just me and my husband, but it was lovely :)
Christmas will be different as we're spending it with my Mom, but I'm going to infiltrate the kitchen and make sure there are enough veggie options for everyone!
I made a multigrain pilaf with lentils and veggies with onion herb gravy.
Well, *my* Thanksgiving dinner was vegan, of course. The others had turkey but, whether they were aware or not, everything else on the table was vegan, right down to dessert.
Yup I had tofurky, it was delicious and very satisfying.
Even in a family of meat eaters i did well. i just skipped the corpse!
i ate some veggie ribs with rice :]
I have a vegan "every day".
My chilldren and I did, but the table was far from vegetarian! We had an entirely omnivorous family joined together which meant a turkey and ground beef in their stuffing! But they did try our vegan stuffing, sweet potatoes, banana bread, green beans, corn, gravy, carrots, and this cranberry salsa over vegan cream cheese appetizer!!! For my in-laws, I don't think they are anywhere close to giving up the turkey, but they did enjoy our vegan dishes and I think are less close minded about what we eat.
My boyfriend and I went to the celebration sponsored by the local vegetarian society, so everything was vegan.
My husband and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal together. It wasn't exactly Thanksgivingesque though, since we didn't have the typical turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. However, I marinated Morningstar chicken and steak strips for the main dish. Plus I steamed some broccoli, baked a couple baked potatoes and crescent rolls. And I made a delicious choclate peanut butter pie. It was a great feast!
