Has anyone ever cooked with seeds...?!
Does the nutritional value of the seeds diminish with cooking? Is it better to grind raw seeds as opposed to first roasting or blanching them? Is the nutritional value comparable to flax?
Any non meaty suggestions for usage?
Answers: ...hemp seeds?

I typically use my seeds raw, topper on salads & such. I have baked them in muffins with good results. Many things are still good cooked but better raw(nutritionally) & I think seeds are 1 of them.
There is some tradeoff when you cook them, but it's worth it. Every autumn I fry pumpkin seeds, salt them, and eat them. Good and good FOR you!
You can add sunflower seeds and sesame seeds to name a few to your salad to avoid having to cook them. Adds crunch and texture.
i think grinding would lose the value even more
but im just guessing
i had soy beans with garlic and almonds fried and it was the best thing ever to put on spinach.
i like cooking with seeds.
i dont know about hemp tho...
The only nuts I toast are sesame and almonds before I add them to food. I have different nuts, I add to different dishes for a bit of "bite" and added taste.
