Is this a good vegetarian diet?!
Morning snack - half cup fruit salad with yoghurt
Lunch - cheese sandwich made with wholegrain bread and salad
Afternoon snack- baked apple with custard
Dinner- brown rice with mixed vegetables and salad
Evening snack- handful of nuts.
My friend suggested I do it, seems like a lot of food....but more importantly is it healthy enough for me to ditch the multi vitamins?

I guess no one ever told Princess there is protein in dairy products....but there is also fat. I think this is too much protein-most people only need 7-8grams/day and there are 6g in a cup of milk and I think about the same in a handful of nuts. Maybe leave out the yogurt and custard or substitute more fruits and veggies if you find yourself hungry.Don't see why you would need any supplements.
Seems like there is a lot of dairy products and no protein. I would definitely keep the multi-vitamin.
For dieting you want to eat about every 2 hours. This will keep you from getting very hungry. Two important things is to watch the portion size and to drink lots of water.
I would probably leave the custard off the baked apple just a few spices.
I would probably add some Tofu to the dinner for some protein. Just add it at the same time as the vegetables so that it soaks up the juices and gives it some flavor.
Well, brown rice, dairy, nuts and veg like brocolli are good sources of protein so I dont think a healthy vegetarian diet will lack protein...maybe more lentils, tofu, eggs. Also depends where your veg are coming from, so many now have a lack of nutrients due to poor soils and are fed a cocktail of stuff to make them grow, (hence the size, uniform shape today...looks goodbut not always so tasty and nutritious as they used to be!)
Where is your protein? You should be eating legumes and tofu, tempeh or seitan! Check out the Vegetarian Pyramid at the web-site listed below.
