I've wondered this myself. I eat it occasionally and what comes out varies. At times its like you can practically stick back on a plate (sorry, gross thought). When this happens, I don't think you have gotten much good out of it, unfortunately.

I think that if you cook the crap out of it it is easier to eat, since I think at times I under cook it. I am also considering cooking it more like pasta than like rice to make sure it has all the water it can absorb (i.e. cook it in more water than it needs, and then strain it).

On a related note, have you ever tried toasting quinoa. I've used them like sesame seeds in an avocado and corn salad with good results. Never eaten enough in a sitting to judge its digestability, but you could always give a different preparation a try an see what results you get.

It is a great source of nutrients and protien. It is kind of the ultimate if you had to live on one food forever and still be relatively healthy food. As far as digestion, it'll give me a little bit of gas sometimes.

oh. so that is what you meant by "like corn."

Quinoa is incredibly nutrient dense. It has more protein than a serving of soy or meat.

It can be a bit difficult to digest because of the long strain proteins and long strain carbohydrates but eating it on a regular basis will eventually help to curb any side effects.

You probably don't need to draw a picture any more than you already did...perhaps try cooking it a bit longer to make it softer...other than that all I can suggest is not eating it.

This is a great grain (ancient Peruvian). There are lots of nutrients and it is a complete protein. Make sure you rinse it very well before cooking, as there is a powder residue on the grain which can lend a slightly bitter taste.

no, i dont. i digest it pretty well. corn, lol. corn is a grain believe it or not, so i guess it would be normal to pass it like corn
