Vegetarians? Do you eat (meat) broth/stock?!

Question: I do not eat anything that has been made with or using any sort or meat stock or croth...like chicken broth or beef stock. I was wondering if that is just me or does everyone do that?

yeah broth is a bit much.

a lot of the time it tastes meaty anyway. ew.

Well i dont no because im not a vegitarian....but i bet ther may be a couple of people that do the same thing as u do.....

its probaly not just you because it was made from meat and is a product of meat so probably no

any product from an animal is taboo to eat if you are vegitarian. that goes for everyone. there are alot of people who really 'bend' the rules of being vegitarian. no meat products. may i sugest some vegi broth instead? thats good too.

Well, since broth and stock are made by boiling leftover animal carcasses I would say that no vegetarian eats it. If they do, they aren't vegetarians.

Mimori---vegetarians can eat eggs and many dairy products

no because its made with chicken even tho ckicken isnt in it it was used to make it it's not vegetarian

but u can eat tomoato soup = ]

From Wikipedia. Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes all animal flesh, including poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, and slaughter by-products.[1]

There are several variants of the diet, some of which also exclude eggs and/or some products produced from animal labor such as dairy products and honey. Veganism, for example, excludes all animal products from diet and in some definitions from attire also,[2] whether or not the production of clothing or items has involved the actual death of an animal (dairy, eggs, honey, wool, silk, down feathers, etc.).

A generic term for both vegetarianism and veganism as well as for similar diets is "Plant-based diets".[4]

The reasons for choosing vegetarianism may be related to moral, religious, cultural, ethical, aesthetic, environmental, social, economic, political, taste, or health concerns.

Yes, I do not eat them. I'm not only vegetarian I'm vegan and alkalarian. I saved my life with foods and drinks of an alkalizing pH. Animal products are extremely acid and pathogen contaminated and therefore I do not eat them. It is science and religion for me. I have never heard of a vegetarian using meat. I have heard of some of them using dairy but not meat.

I do not eat anything that used animal-based broth as well. A vegetarian would not consume it because although it is not meat itself, the broth was made from the "juices" of the meat.

No I don't eat. Because there is no point in following vegetarianism if you eat broth. It is still from meat...

True vegetarians don’t consume meat based broths/stocks like chicken or beef broth. We consume vegetable broths/stocks instead. There are vegetable bouillons available and miso makes a good broth also.

It's not just you. Many vegetarians do not eat chicken and beef stock because it contains beef and poultry which contradicts the idea of not eating meat

No! We (at least most of us) use vegetable broth/stock. It's even less expensive!

def. not! animals still died to make it.

I don't either, I'm a strict vegetarian. I love miso soup but most places make it with fish stock so I just make my own miso soup at home with vegetable broth. And wouldn't that be a flexetarian?

I do not eat (meat) broth or stock. I am a vegetarian. If you eat (meat) broth/stock, you wouldn't be a vegetarian.

no i'm a strict vegetarian and only use vegetable stock

I don't. It's the same thing as eating meat as far as I am concerned.

Alkalarian? What the hell is that? Just what we need--another food choice title.

No, vegetarians don't eat animals and they don't drink them either.

Vegetarians do no eat OR drink animals.

If they do, they aren't vegetarian.

VEGETARIANS DO NOT EAT ANYTHING MADE FROM ANIMALS.

IF A PERSON DOES THIS, THEY ARE NOT A VEGETARIAN

Nope. I use vegetable broths and stocks.

I used to be vegan. I would eat dairy and soup with a meat base, but not steak or chicken.
