Vegans - do you still use animal products?!
Answers: I am not talking about consuming them for nutritional purposes. I want to know if you wear leather or suede. If you have ivory jewelry. Or if you have bone china. Fess up.
I still have leather, silk and wool that I bought "pregan" but I won't buy anything new. I would NEVER have owned ivory to begin with.
Oh, and yes, I eat yeast. It's not an animal.
I am not a vegan but a vegetarian. Vegans do not wear anything that has to due with animal products. Period. And they eat any kind of bread...well not with dairy but you know what I mean.
Not being a vegan, I wonder what this proves.. The question is asked because?
I also am a vegetarian, not a vegan. But I, like vegans, do not wear animal products of any kind...
i don`t eat or use any animal product or by product , therefore i am a vegan
Yes. I use all products mentioned, although I have no ivory jewelry. Ivory is just wrong.
Vegans don't buy anything made from animals.
If a person does so, they are not vegan.
Vegans are no better off than anyone else, and many simply cannot toss something simply because they've had a moral epiphany. For example, if they already own bone china, it really doesn't make much sense to throw it out since the money has already been contributed to an industry whose practices they don't agree with. We just use things up and buy vegan next time.
I'm hoping your comment is not as obnoxious as it sounds. If you can prove to me that yeast is sentient, I will gladly stop eating it. Until then, it's somewhat hypocritical for an OMNI to harass vegans about their lifestyles.
VV Sweetheart, you should learn your facts before you rant in all caps. I doubt that any movement can be deemed hypocritical due to the actions of "one lady". If animal testing is so efficient, why do thousands of people DIE annually from taking drugs approved in animal tests? Are you really so completely committed to animal torture that you'd prefer animals be used rather than the more sophisticated computer models used by countries with better health care systems? PETA hates people? Sort of like how abolitionists hated whites? Riiight.
PLease remember that the Founders of our country were called terrorists, as were the parties responsible for the Boston Tea Party. Though you use it as an ignorant slur, I'm proud to join the like of Martin Luther King and Samuel Adams in being called a "terrorist".
I do not wear leather, suede, wool or any kind of clothing or jewelry that was made out of an animal.
As far as I know, yeast is a live organism but is classified as a fungus. It's a microorganism, not an animal.
i'm a meat eater[in the process of becoming a vegetarian] and i never use leather or suede, never have thought it was right.
I don't buy any new animal products, but I use some things I got before going vegan, such as leather belts. And my parents have bone china that we use for special occasions. It doesn't make much of a difference whether or not you use products that you had before you went vegan.. Its already bought and done. I gave away some things, though, because I couldn't stand feeling cashmere right against my skin. All I could picture was bunnies in little cages.
And I do eat yeast because it doesn't have feelings. Yeast can't feel pain or fear, like cows and chickens can.
If someone buys leather or wears a leather jacket, they aren't vegan.
Yeast is not an animal. It doesn't matter if it is alive.
a vegan would not buy any of the stuff listed exept for yest as that is not an animal and if you dont eat yeast you cant eat mushrooms and many other things that are related.
maby vegans however keep there non vegan items brought befour they became vegan but would not replace them when they wore out or break.
