List.... Meat Substitutes for Vegetarians.?!

Question: Soy, beans, nuts, tofu; which can make things like veggie burgers and many fake meats.

Answers: Soy, beans, nuts, tofu; which can make things like veggie burgers and many fake meats.

Soya, Quorn, and that's about it.

Soy, beans, legumes, nuts, and of course the processed replacements such as veggie burgers, tofu dogs, etc.

Soya, quorn, nuts also have protein. Make sure you eat plenty of pulses too - lentils, etc.

Quorn is about the best, if its for Christmas stay away from nut roasts you might as well eat saw dust!

i wish i could,, theres no substitute for meat end of,,,, is there a substitute for a bacon butty????? i dont think so, is there a substitute for steak and onions?? idont think so,, pork crackling?? dont think so..... eat meat you know its the right thing to do

could you give abit more information

Granose do something called 'Mock Duck', in cans. (High in gluten, for those who need to know.) They also do something called 'Nuttolene', which I rather like sliced in sandwiches.

There's a brand called, I think, 'Morning Star Farms' or something similar, which does a kind of (vegetarian) bacon strip, which can be fried (lightly), and put into toast with brown sauce, for those who miss real bacon toasted butties.

Leaving aside heavily processed stuff, there's beefsteak fungus for meat and stinkhorn for fish. Aubergine is somewhat meat-like. Smoked tofu is slightly like bacon. Your best bet is probably various kinds of fungi.

If you are vegan why would you substitute meat.
I am so amazed by the number of fake meat products and substitute meat products on the market. It's like "we won't eat meat, but we want stuff to taste like meat."
That's like I won't eat licorice but I want stuff that tastes like licorice.

Buy the weigh, does anybody out there have a recipe for peanut-butter cookies that has a flour and peanut substitute?

No substitute for the real thing its like a woman using a toy nothing can substitute for a good piece of real meat
