Who domesticed who, prehistoric caveman or prehistoric dog?!


Question: Did prehistoric caveman domestic the dog, or did early dog domesticated prehistoric humans in the way that it knew that by being friendly to prehistoric humans it could get a free lunch?

I've heard it both ways. The dog taught man to hunt in exchange for shelter and the table scraps, the man kept the dog inside the cave to use for finding game and rewarded him for it.

Those would be great dogs... the only things my dogs seem to be capable of is dropping a deuce on the carpet.

I'm not sure. I wouldn't want a saber toothed dog humping my flexitarian, vegan, caveman leg.

you are getting ahead of yourself. All animals will take the shortest path to nutrition. eg. an animal will always choose the wounded or weak over strong prey... it's easier with less risk. Besides, I tend to think of the relatioship with canids to be more of a symbiotic relationship, that is that both coexist with each other for the gain of both species.
