Is green bean casserole okay for vegetarians?!
she's not vegan.
the recipe consist on green beans, mushroom soup (probably campbell's), and french's fried onions.
i've checked the websites and couldn't find anything.
i could read the labels but i don't know what to look for, so if your a vegetarian and you can just tell me if it's okay, that would be great!
thanks!

Yes you are sweet, making something for your sister (just like my sisters do for me).
Just check the packs of the soup and onions and make sure they don't include any meat/chicken and look for other things like gelatin (from hooves and stomach lining), as many things have gelatin.
If you see something with a vegetarian tick that would be good - just be careful with soups as they often have chicken stock in them.
Also, if you are using cheese, make sure ingredients don't include animal rennet - it's easy to check the pack for rennet under ingredients (it might even say non-animal rennet - then you know it's ok)
Hope this helps.
I'm not vegetarian but as long as your sister consumes dairy products, your ok in serving her the casserole.
susbsitute the mushroom because its dairy try something with soy go to a farmers market
That's so nice that you are making your sister something for Christmas
The recipe is vegetarian
(For Christmas you can also bring veggie platter or hummus with chips)
I'd think that be okay. I'd eat it.
--Vegetarian.
im pretty sure its vegetarian. you could also bring a veggie platter if you want, like for everyone, just incase she doesnt have much to eat. you're sweet to your sis!
yes its fine as far as the mushroom soup doesnt have chicken stock, chicken/beef in it....
It's a lot easier to cook for a lacto-ovo-vegetarian than a vegan. The bean dish is fine. One subtle thing to look for in other dishes is gelatin since it is made out of bones or hooves (can't remember which). That includes marshmellows and some puddings, some sour creams, some yogurts. Ask her if she eats eggs, especially free range ones.
yes its vegetarian.the recipe is on the back of the cambells mushroom soup and those french fried onions
Only way to be sure is to ask the Vegetarian.
