Can I sub soynut butter for peanut butter in recipes?!

Question: Does anyone know if I can use soy instead of peanut butter? My daughter has a nut allergy and I am dying for some no bake cookies but I didn't know if the consistency would turn out ok?

noooooooo. trust me whatever u do dont try dat. i did nd it was horrible.

I don't see there being a problem, although I have to say its not something I've tried. They have similar consistancies and more importantly, similar fatty acid attributes. Let us all know how it goes!

Yes. And lots of people substitute other nut butter when they have peanut allergy. It'll turn out the same but without the peanut flavor.

You can also buy pea butter (made from field peas and canola oil), but this might give it a more nutty, 'peasoup' flavor.
