Vegetarian cookbook recommendations?!

Question: I do not plan to go fully vegetarian, but I would like to add more vegetarian meals to my diet. I like tofu stir fry and bean burritos, but I'm looking to expand my repertoire. Any suggestions for a really good cookbook? I'm cooking for myself, my husband and two toddlers.

The Moosewood cookbooks. They're all pretty good, and the recipes are easy to try, basic and easy to play around with. They're mostly great meals to add to your repertoire.

Also there's one specifically for cooking with kids (The Enchanted Broccoli Forest), so depending on how old your kids are, you could involve them in the process.

I can't recommend these enough-- really great cookbooks, well designed with fantastic meals.

Also, if you're in or near Ithaca NY, you can go to the restaurant.

Any of the Moosewood Cookbooks are terrific my Favorite is Sunday' at the Moosewood Restaurant it has a wide variety of great vegetarian dishes that span a taste of the globe. I also really love Japanesee food and have a number of Japanes cookbooks that feature Tofu just peruse a few at the library and buy the ones you want from Amazon or a local book store. I draw from any number of cookbooks from the Mediterranean, South America and Asia to find a good variety of vegetarian options that offer a wide variety of flavors and options on how to make delicious vegetable, legume, and soy based meals. Hope you find some you like ! Good Luck!!

A vegetarian friend of mine really loves the Deborah Madison cookbooks. So I picked one up too!

La Dolce Vegan! by Sarah Kramer. Super tasty.

If you are an experienced cook and like to fiddle with lots of ingrediants, I totally recommend "The Passionate Vegetarian" by Crescent Dragonwagon (silliest name ever i know;-)

If you are a slacker cook like me, "The Vegan Family Cookbook" by Chef Brian P. Mcarthy is great, super simple recipes that turn out great (the peanut butter cookie recipe alone is worth the price of the book, even if you do eat animal foods!-)

You can find some great vegetarian recipes at allrecipes.com too.
