I have been vegetarian for three months now and i want to loose weight?!!!?!
Answers: can you tell me some diet plans!!! please!!!!
Run the numbers. Find out how many calories you are consuming daily and cut it down. Don't expect to loose more than 6lbs per month (any more is unhealthy and will come right back), drink lots of water, and remember that processed flour, high-fructose corn syrup & trans-fats are the DEVIL. You will have to become an avid label reader and reject any of the above ingredients as the poisons they are. I lost about 35 lbs that way after gut surgery (couldn't work out) and still eat under 1500 cal daily to maintain, but this can go up if I get enough exercise. A good rule is to never eat more in one meal than will fit in a coffee mug; any more than that and your stomach expands and before you know it, you are eating more to feel full. It takes about 3 months of eating properly before it will shrink to it's correct size. Also, wait at least 20 min after eating before considering any kind of desert, because that's how long it takes your brain to get the message that you ate enough to avoid feeling hungry.
You became a vegetarian JUST to lose weight?
First off, being vegetarian has nothing to do with losing weight, unless you switch from only eating cheeseburgers to only steamed vegetables. Diet plans usually just result in a temporary weight loss, which when you go off the diet can result in you gaining way more weight than before because you throw off your bodys equilibrium. My suggestion, eat less starch, more fiber, excersize regularly. There are no easy answers when it comes to treating your body right.
I was taught that the "just losing weight" reason is immoral.
Less starch.
Remain aware of proper fiber.
Remove fats/oils (butter, calorie dressing, etc.)
Drink more water.
Limit caffeine (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, several pops)
Watch amount of sugars in drinks, etc..
Avoid 'fatty' such as chocolate, chips, cakes, etc..
Add more fruits to diet.
AND must exercise for toning.
Don't just cut down on eating; cut down on types of foods.
Cut out all the sugar, chocolate and caffeine. Also the dairy products, and you will loose weight. Works for me. I eat beans, tofu, and tons of vegies. Some fruit, like pears, magnos, add nuts too.
Put your food in proportions. Stop eating when you're full. You don't have to eat every ounce of food on your plate. Eat less. Eat in the morning it will keep your metabolism going fast.
Eat a snack once and a while too, that helps your metabolism.
Go raw vegan
The weight will melt off like butter
You shouldn't need to go on a diet if you're leading a healthy vegetarian lifestyle. If you're eating healthily and doing exercise then you should lose weight naturally (that's if you're overweight in the first place). If it still doesn't work then try becoming a vegan. Dairy and eggs are full of saturated fat and cholesterol so if you're consuming a lot of these products then they could be contributing to your weight. Even if you don't want to go fully vegan, maybe just cut down on the dairy and eggs. Good luck :o)
why didn't you loose weight when you switched over? what kind of foods are you eating? if you want to loose weight don't eat junk foods like chips or whatever. eat vegetables and tofu. and exercise.
