Can someone please help this person find a job?????????
You shouldn't have to explain anything to your friends. If they really true friends they would support you in anything that you do, and they would respect your decision with no questions asked.
First of all, why do your friends even have to know, really. If you are going around telling everyone they probably feel you're preaching to them. To each his own.
There are so many reasons why everyone should consider veganism. The benefits that come with a vegan lifestyle are numerous such as: health benefits, vitamins/nutrients, physical fitness, treatment of animals, environmental benefits, and religions reasons.
Please visit the link below for more information and more reasons.
Well, I certainly don't think that veganism is a cult..but it definitely isn't natural. God put animals on this earth to be eaten by us. It's part of the food chain..you don't see animals going vegetarian to save the small animals.
But besides that, you shouldn't have to explain to your "friends" why you've made the decision. And if you do, if they are really freinds, they'll understand and go on poking fun at you about it.
Humans are omnivorous, and I'm not one to fight nature. However, your diet is your choice, and nobody else has any right to tell you what you may or may not put in your body.
If they're giving you a hard time, make sure you aren't doing the same to them as well.
I've know lots of vegans who were kind, gentle folks, but I've also met quite a few who were rather nasty, and didn't do much to help the image of vegans in general.
Don't be a jerk about it, though, and you'll have the higher moral ground.
my personal belief is that exploitation is inherent in all existence and is therefore unavoidable. I eat meat but refuse to buy new clothes or drive a car. You have to pick your own battles and who cares about the reasons, because ultimately its all pretty arbitrary. Your friends need to respect your decisions, but if you feel the need to argue about it just explain to them how baseless and stupid their lifestyle choices are to someone else that doesnt have their same values.
Many in the vegan community suffer from the fact that their decision about what they decide to eat or not eat defines them as a person. They suck to invite to parties, (can you clean the grill down and cook this boca burger? thanks, i just really can't abide my overly processed veggie patty touching the same hot metal as a piece of meat. Ooooooh, does this have butter in it? Could you get me something else? I'm a vegan, you know. I can't abide cruelty to cows. ad nauseum"
This unjustifiable moral high-horsing is easy to resent, and alarmingly easy to ridicule, given how shrill many members of the movement are.
That being said, there are plenty of vegans/veggies I know that are content to live and let live. They recognize that there are two sides to the coin, with fairly equal moral weight, and that it's an issue of personal choice, and not a cause that needs to be prostelytized. So, do whatever you feel is right, and forget about what your friends say. And respect their right to choose what they do or don't eat.
You firstly do not have to justify your choice. It is your body and your life. A few months ago I also decided to go vegan. I grew up on meat. And my husband and two kids still eat all meat products. Every once in a while someone says something to me. But I just take it for what it is , they're choice. Don't try and change your friends( I know you don't want to) And don't change what you feel is right for you.
lol
you should listen to your friends
If it is only about animal cruelty then you will argue your head off and never get anywhere. Give more thought to what benefits you have from being a vegan - do you feel better, get sick less often, have you lost weight and gained more energy? These are soluble points that mean more than just the political reasons. You may have quit meat for the animals but you keep off of it for yourself. Good Luck!
Why do people keep feeding the trolls???
You don't need any reasons at all. Just do what you want.
Hey you up there, Sunshine says to quit walking on her!
This is a 2-parter
First, to all of the meat-eaters who say God put animals here to be eaten, I thought God put animals here to LIVE! (Remember, Eden was Vegan) And just because we are at the top of the food chain doesn't mean we should eat animals.
And Second, Ashley all I can say is to forget about what your friends say, this is your life, your body! You don't have to justify anything to them. I mean, if it bothers you, don't talk about it, just go about with your dietary habits, some people just don't budge when it comes to veganism. Veggie Power to you girl=)
Tell Them At Least Your Not Eating A Poor Pig Or A Cow.. Ima A Vegeterian to and Thats What i done.. hope this works
Being retarded is about the best reason, so you have it covered
I know how it is, you become a veg*n start visiting forums like www.peta2.com and stop hanging out with meat-eaters because you think there unenlightened, cruel and you try and fail trying to change them to become veg*n so you hang around other people of your lifestyle.
I have no idea why they would think that being a veg*n is like a cult.
If they were really your friends, they wouldn't insult you this way.
