I have a bucket full of rocks and twigs?!
Answers: Does that make you hungry? I'm considering making a soup with it, how long does one have to boil rocks and twigs before it's edible?
Stone soup is usually pretty good !
The time spent boiling is almost irrelevant, actually most soup is better if simmered not boiled anyway--with rocks by themselves it does not matter much only a few will get more tender and in fact even if you boil away all the water the rocks taste the same, its just that the hot ones might burn your tongue.
Once someone adds a little something to the pot you have to tone down the heat a bit.
The more people you convince to add to the pot the better the soup unless they bring nothing but more rocks.
The rock quality is sometimes important, a few species of rock to avoid are Gypsum, Magnesite,Halite, shale, mudstone, Uraninite,Pitchblende,Arsenopyrite,Flour...
Some that are good for soup are Gabbro, Chalcedony,Quartz.make sure you wash them first to get the manure, and lichen off of them.
Once you get the first pot going they can be useful in starting up a second kettle---just bring a pot of water and dump them in to heat the water just like the American Indians are said to have done !
When eating the soup try not swallow any stones that are left whole they could lodge in your lower tract and make you into a hard *** which is counterproductive to the purpose of stone soup.
I usually bring the stones since I don"t have to peel them (ususally).
Instead of a soup, hit yourself in the head with the rocks and after an hour or so the twigs will taste just great on their own.
Sure -- you can make Stone Soup! http://www.stonesoup.coop/storyss/storys... (great little story)
I will gladly be the one to bring the cabbage, and I'm sure we can get a few others to pitch in.
I dont think you cant eat rocks no matter how long you boil them but good luck with that...................
yea, im starving
sure eat that then u will be out of this world (literally)
you should play a game with your bucket full of rocks and twigs instead of eating them =] have fun...xoxoxx
Excellent Vera C, I'll bring the onion!
It takes a lot less time to boil if you stick them up the lower orifice of your alimentary canal before boling.
Thank you JR, I'm flattered.
Majnun, that is the fanciest insult I've ever read. Simply amazing.
