Do Vegans watch movies (and plays and musicals etc) in theaters?!

Question: Again this came up during a lighthearted discussion among friends some of whom are vegan/vegetarian

the argument was since most movie theater seats are leather or partly leather, do vegans it and watch movies anyway? Or they just stand up for the duration? (if allowed to do so at all)
The 2 vegans said they never thought about it and probably won't from now on.. What about you?

exsft...A good question realizes everyone, I never though about it. It is uncommon in SEA countries either. But...wait...

Do you heart that Europe government baned to test cosmetic on animal start 2010, but never come to most of simple mind how devoted was those activists to succeed a simple plan, but often started with something "silly". This question is not silly neither.

Reprimanding ourselves from going to such theaters is a direct boycott and condemn of course, but not enough. When public is advocates, producer will come with synthetic leather eventually.

Dear non-vegan's...many countries have banned kangaroo, dog, human leather. Making of leather seats ethically and emotionally wrong either.

Dear vegan, assume that you are "allergy" to leather, what would you do? Be courageous.

Well, they aren't eating the seats...

Sure. I dont know though, but sure

Not all theaters have leather seats, in fact, I've never even seen a theater with leather seats, not anywhere in the world, and I've been all over.

I wonder what the motivation is behind this question.

Is the point to take something serious and meaningful and try to show the absurdity of it?

My Mother said a joke is when two people are laughing and I am not laughing (although, I did smile painfully).

...and until the digital filming all the film material contained animal products and yet i know photographs exist of vegans.

animal products are inter-woven in modern life, people do thier best.

The movie theaters I've gone to all have had cloth as far back as I can remember.

When I go to this lebanese restaurant nearby, I sit on their couch while I wait for my food, and that's leather. Am I out of the club?

i have been to many theaters and cinemas but have NEVER seen any with leather seats, so this problem has never risen, but it is a good question, and i supose that really they shouldnt sit, but it completely depends on the person's own beliefs, everyone is different.

I have never been in a theatre with leather seats.

If we knew all that was made from animals we would all be shocked. The animal industry has made use of every thing the dead animals have to offer. Even their bones are charred to use to make nice white sugar. And leather from their skin. There is not much waste from the slaughterhouses.

Yes, vegans watch movies in theaters. I have never been in a movie theater with leather seats. You must go to some pretty fancy theaters.

Well, this is somewhat whimsical. As a vegan I just do the BEST that I PERSONALLY can. It's nearly impossible to be absolutely vegan.

If I were to be completely, absolutely vegan, I wouldn't be able to do anything at all. There's leather and animal products in the car I drive, but that is the best I could afford; there are animal bones and products in many types of paving and cement in my state, but it's legally permissible; I wouldn't eat anything at all because there are animal byproducts in fertilizers used on plants (even organic ones)... it goes on and on. I can't very well survive on air and sunshine and hover around in the air like a gossamer...

So, basically, I just do the best I can. If I have to sit in a leather seat in a theater because there aren't any other ones, what can I do? (And this is interesting, I have a performance of the Nutcracker that I'm going to see this next weekend... I'll see if you're right about the seats).

I believe, and this is my opinion, it is immoral to sit in leather sits.

I have never seen leather seats in a movie theater.

"The 2 vegans" that you speak of are in only in your head.

Does sitting in a leather seat cause or contribute to any suffering?

Only PETA films depicting animal cruelty. Otherwise they are too busy foraging for food.

As you can see there are a number of people culturally "unaware" that there are other places on this planet that have leather seats in theatres and opera houses. That's a result of food foraging obsession.

I've never been in a theatre that has leather seats. Most of the ones I've been in are cloth and vinyl. I avoid leather seats whenever possible, but if I'm visiting my family, I have no choice but to park my butt on the leather seats in their cars. *sigh*

Playing gotcha, are ya?

Do vegans eat steak in theaters?

Damn straight. I enjoy the feel of cool leather against my silky soft vegan skin.
