Answers: OK I have a few questions,
Are you a vegan?

Would the New Year be a good time to start?
Why did you become a vegan?

Thank You =].
People are raised as vegans from birth so i dont think it would be a problem
Im only vegetarian and im 15. Are you already vegetarian? Id suggest if you arent then start with that and gradually cut the rest out of your diet.
You need to do your research though. Make sure that you dont let your iron levels drop or anything ect
The new years always a good time to start something yeah! It'l give you time to prepare aswel
As I said I'm not vegan just vegetarian. I became one because I dont agree with what goes on and where it comes from. I find it really unnessecery to kill for food when you can go on without it. didnt really plan mine out though, one day I just watched a video on peta and decided that that was it. I always used to be one of those people who said ' II could never be vegetarian, I love meat too much but I dont miss it at all because of all the meat substitutes on the market these days (the day after I became vegetarian my mum made a bacon bagel without realising! I really though i'd never last but i did and refused to eat it and just a few days later I no longer thought 'god, i'd love a bit of chicken or something now' )
My favorite meal would still be pizza and i didnt have to give that up, I just dont have meat on it anymore. I also love cheese and pasta but thats not vegan although again you can get alternatives to cheese ect.
I've also started to have salads with quorn chicken style pieces and I never thought i'd say this about a salad but its gorgeous! For the salad I usually have spinich, kale, lettuce ect, celery, red peppers, tomatoes and cucumber and I mix shallots in with the quorn which makes it so much more tasty. Its really filling and low fat which suits me! haha
Good luck with whatever you choose to do x
I'm not vegan but I know plenty of vegans..Any time is a good time to start..If I weren't a meat whore I'd become a vegan mostly because it's an extremly healthy lifestyle..Fav vegetarian meal is veggie stirfry and rice..Sweet Peas, Baby Corn, Green & Yellow beans, Red, Yellow & Green Bell Pepper..and whatever else you figure you can throw in with some sweet & sour sauce.
Vegan is difficult unless you know what you're doing. If you're young, you are still developing bone density and your brain is still developing, too. You need to know a LOT about nutrition, from reputable sources, to make sure your vegan diet is providing what you need for health.
I think you might be wise to start out gradually, educating yourself as you go. (Maybe Santa can bring you a book on the subject--if you've been good!) First, give up red meat, next chicken, next fish, next eggs, next all dairy products, until you've got it pared down to full-out vegan.
There's nothing wrong with stopping at any of the various types of vegetarianism. Being a true vegan means doing a lot of research, at first anyway, preparing much of your own food, pretty much giving up eating out, and time-consuming searching for hard-to-find products like margarines that don't contain any animal byproducts.
I am not a vegan. But my sister in law has been for 12 years, and her children have both been vegans since birth, and they are very healthy children.
Any time is fine to start being a vegan. Just make sure you have plenty of varied foods - you need sources of iron, vitamin B12 (not available from any vegetable source), complete proteins, etcetera, etcetera. I'd suggest using FitDay for the first month or two to make sure you're getting adequate nutrition. It tracks your diet and tells you if you're getting adequate vitamins and minerals.

Soy milk and tofu are great sources of a complete protein. I like calcium set tofu - you can get your calcium really easily this way. You can also eat the soy based 'fake meats,' which are often fortified with vitamin B-12 (check the label). You should also eat plenty of nuts, nut butters, lentils, chickpeas and beans. If you eat a few servings of wholegrain cereals/breads, leafy green veg (they have iron!) and orange veg, as well as fruit, you'll be fine.

My favourite vegetarian meal is probably Indian vegetable korma - it's a selection of vegetables cooked in a creamy coconut curry sauce and served with rice or bread.
My favourite vegan meal is shepherd's pie. You just take a packet of TVP or veggie soya 'ground beef', mix it in a baking pan with 1/2 can corn, 1/2 can mushroom gravy, and a chopped, fried onion, then top the entire thing with mashed potatoes and bake until the top is crispy.
Yes I am a vegan.
I have been so for about two years, I think.
Any time is a good time, but New Year's might be particularly good, as the temptations of the holidays are gone.
I became vegan for all of the same reasons I became vegetarian. I finally realized that dairy and eggs were just as harmful to animals, my body, and the environment as meat is.
My girlfriend is a great cook, so that's a hard one. Eh, I'll just go with an old stand-by: There are few greater things in this world than a giant, greasy pizza. But maybe that's just me.
It is safe for a 14-year-old to become vegan. The American Dietetic Association (one of the leading nutrition experts in this country) writes: "Well-planned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood and adolescence." The key is to eat a variety of foods - fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains. The fake meats have a lot of protein and nutrients.
I've been a vegan for about 5 years, mostly because of the animal cruelty issues (but also for health and environmental reasons). Egg-laying hens are so intensively confined for their whole lives that it's impossible for them to even spread their wings. The wire grating of the cages constantly cuts into the birds' feet and after about two years, the animals are slaughtered when their egg production declines.
New Year's is a good time to make the switch to veganism. Feel free to go at your own pace; it doesn't have to be an overnight change.
I don't like cooking, so my favorite vegetarian meal is very simple: stir-fried Morningstar Farms Meal Starters chik'n strips and red, orange & yellow bell peppers. There are a lot of vegan recipes here: http://www.chooseveg.com/vegan-recipes.a...

Good luck!!
If you are asking for yourself, that is question best discussed with your parents and physician not in yahoo answers.
It's safe for anyone to be vegan. The American (and Canadian) dietetic association supports vegan and vegetarian diets for all stages of life.
Yes.
Anytime's a good time.
Because it was hypocritical for me to be lacto-ovo and against animal cruelty.
Depends on what i'm craving at the time.
"vegetarian"
No offense, but most vegetarians lack in protein which is needed for muscle built, so unless you want to be stick skinny, be my guest.
Are you a vegan? Yeah, I'm 13 (turned vegan when i was 12) So it will deffinatley be safe for you.
How long have you been one? 7 Weeks =D
Would the New Year be a good time to start? Yeah good thinking. New Years revelotion
Why did you become a vegan? For the animlas mainly.
What is your favorite vegetarian meal? What are the ingredients? Stir-fry =D I have plain noodles (Not the egg ones), Carrots, Green beans, Vegan sausage slices all in a 'blue dragon' sauce =]
Hope this helped.!
i am
have been for 3 years (vegetarian longer)
anytime is a good time to start
cause i love animals and learned alot of stuff
lasagna-spinach,soy cheese,lasagna noodles,saucr,various vegetables,garlic
and it is scientifically proven we are naturally herbivores; so of course it is safe!!!! and all nutrients people get no matter what they eat is from plants. when you eat animals, it is just the second hand nutrients that animal got from eating plants. so why not just cut to the source?
