how do you kill dirt?
some bacteria yes...dirt cannot be killed!
Running water does the exact same job!
If it unnecessarily kills bacteria then it is not vegan approved and it is immoral.
I think it's more that it washes away the dirt molecules - it traps them in it's bubbles and then they can be washed away. And I think it's the citrus oils that cut through waxes and wash them away.
Well, dirt is never alive, so it can't be killed. FIT and veggie sprays are meant to wash off pesticide residues, not to kill bacteria. The primary ingredients are usually a surfactant, and citrus oil, which remove some of the residue, but not all of it, despite what it claims to do. You cannot wash all of the toxic residue off of non organic fruits and veggies, as much of it is absorbed into the fruit or veg. Raw, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, or peroxide is more effective than the over priced sprays. I hope your project included some research on organic fruits and veggies, which are far healthier for you than stuff that is sprayed with toxic chemicals.
