I dont classify myself as a vegetarian as such I eat vegetables, beans, dairy, cheese, eggs and fish. Some people would label me a pescotarian. Get on to some web sites type in Vegetarian Society UK and Vegetarian society qld (Its an australian address) look up Vegan wolf, look up www.lencecchetto.com it will have a lot of recipes.

Going vegetarian is easy. Grocery stores are always stocked with colorful vegetables and plenty of other vegan foods. Almost all grocery stores now carry delicious faux meat products, too—from veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs to vegetarian chicken nuggets, ribs, steak strips, and more. With all these great products available, it’s easier than ever to whip up delicious meat-free meals at home. Going out to eat couldn’t be easier too! With more and more people becoming vegetarian these days, most restaurants now offer great-tasting, healthy vegetarian selections.
www.goveg.com is another good site. www.cyh.com this site will tell you have eating fish and is designed for teenagers. Vegans eat fruit, nuts, grains and vegetables and don't eat anything that comes from animals, eg meat, eggs or dairy foods like milk and cheese.
A lacto-vegetarian eats fruit, vegetables, nuts, grains and dairy foods (lacto is a Latin word that means milk).
An ovo-vegetarian eats fruit, vegetables, nuts, grains and eggs (ovo is a Latin word that means eggs).
A lacto-ovo-vegetarian eats fruit, vegetables, nuts, grains, dairy foods and eggs.
Pesco-vegetarians eat fish, fruit, nuts, grains and vegetables (pesco means fish).
Semi-vegetarians eat everything except red meat. There are many reasons why people become vegetarian, and here are some of them.

They like the taste of vegetables, fruit, nuts and grains.
They don't like the taste of meat.
They cannot bear the thought of eating animals.
They have religious beliefs which prohibit the eating of meat.
They've grown up in a vegetarian family.
Meat can be too expensive or not available where they live.
They feel that they are healthier when not eating meat.
They want to be like their friends.
Vegetables are cheaper than meat.

Good luck.

vegitarians don't eat meat but do eat milk products
you can be semi vegitarian or semi vegan

vegans don't eat milk stuff or meat

vegitarians don't eat meat but do eat milk stuff

"is there a type of vegetarian that eats fish and dairy products?"

yeah, a lazy one.

if you eat fish you could consider yourself a pescitarian

but i would reccoment that you give up fish, since its an animal too

dont call yourself a vegetarian if you eat fish because its hypocritical.

I eat fish (for medical reasons) and dairy and milk products, my two youngest grandchildren have never eaten meat or fish and so you can reassure your dad that they are at 9 and 10 years of age bright intelligent and happy, healthy normal kids, so even if you decide to become full vegetarian he needn't be concerned unduly, If he is worried about vitamins etc., these can be supplemented, but if you do eat fish (esp; the oily ones, like sardines, pilchards etc.,) with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit you shouldn't need to do much about supplements. I don't like the idea of his yelling at you as that isn't nice for either of you, but don't get too upset, it is only because he cares and doesn't really have all the facts at his fingertips, do show him this reply, and may be he will be a bit more reassured . I do know where he is coming from because I have been there myself, and it is easy to panic when your kids seem to be at risk of any kind whatsoever, you are so lucky to have a dad, especially one who obviously loves you a lot but I guess you know that don't you?

OK let's see here. Your ID is vegan4life but you aren't a vegetarian yet and your ID is new today.

What are ya up to?

There is no vegetarian that eats fish, it's animal flesh.

EDIT: It's too late to change your ID name you're already busted!

If you decide to eat both fish and dairy, then you would be an omnivore (piscivore, whatever...).

You can also research information on vegetarianism to show your dad that a vegetarian diet is not unhealthy. "Diet For A New America" and "The Food Revolution" by John Robbins, "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell, and "Skinny B i t c h" by Rory Friedman & Kim Barnouin are all good places to start. Or do a quick search for vegetarian sites.

Best wishes! :)

Try a flexitarian diet, you get to eat some meat.

you should be a lacto-ovo vegetarian. you can still eat dairy and eggs. and no, eggs are not baby chickens, contrary to popular belief. they are part of a chickens' menstrual cycle, and are not fertilized! so... you should research health benefits of lacto ovo vegetarianism online, then show your dad, or talk to him about it. prove that it isn't bad for you, that it can actually be good. ask him questions about his diet, too. challenge him. "how is eating meat good without a balanced diet of other foods?" or something of the sort. make meat look like the enemy when you talk to him. good luck

Google "Flexitarian Diets" and "flexitarian" and you will find your answer.

i did exactly that for three years... i don't think there is a name for it...to help with your dad do that most of the time but maybe eat turkey on christmas or other holidays but no other time...
(i'm now a vegan personally i can only touch meat in the form of dog treats, lol)
